Weekly TD-SCDMA Update August 18-24
August 22, 2008
China's MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) recently approved of China Mobile's plan to build TD-SCDMA networks in 28 provincial capitals, Sina Tech reported on August 19. This move indicates that the government has cleared the second-phase TD-SCDMA network construction plan, according to Sina Tech. Time frame of the network construction plan has not been disclosed, though. Furthermore, approval of the plan does not entail that the government will necessarily issue the 3G license, according to the same report.
